Oleoresins are botanical extracts of essential oils and resin constituents. They form the flavor and aromatic profile of the plant from which they are extracted. Oleoresins are volatile or non-volatile compounds obtained from spices using solvents. They prove to be more shelf-stable than the whole spice and can be custom-made to suit your requirements.

Natural Food Colors

Natural food colors are preparations obtained from foods and other edible natural source materials obtained by physical and/or chemical extraction resulting in a selective extraction of the pigments relative to the nutritive or aromatic constituents. They come in many forms consisting of liquids, powders, gels, and pastes. Food coloring is used both in commercial food production and in domestic cooking.


Anthocyanins – Water soluble pigments responsible for the attractive red, purple and blue colors.

Betanin – Color of beetroot is water soluble and has limited stability when exposed to light, heat and oxygen.

Chlorophyll – The most widely distributed natural plant pigment, present in all green leafy vegetables.

Carotenoids – 400+ different carotenoids have been identified in red/orange/yellow fruits, vegetables & plants.

Curcumin – Turmeric is a well known spice. Its pigment is oil soluble that gives a lemon yellow shade.

Riboflavin – Vitamin B2, is used for fortification and coloring.

Carbon Black – Vegetable carbon black is a heat & light insoluble pigment, used in sugar confectionery.

Caramels – Water soluble and is associated with the color and flavor of baked foods. It is heat and light stable.

Synthetic Food Colors

Synthetic food colors are produced by full chemical synthesis or by chemical modification of several precursor compounds and are therefore in contrast to natural food colors, which are usually extracted from several natural sources and purified.
